Our Promise To You

My Environmental Promise: I use Forest Stewardship Council certified woods or woods salvaged from downed trees. All boards are glassed with epoxy resin which is cleaner for our environment and emits 50-75% less Volatile Organic Compounds than polyester resin. In my shop I have moderate ventilation and no need for a mask when glassing. Epoxy is lighter and stronger than polyester. My wood boards are nearly indestructible and should last a lifetime. Each board is quality crafted for strength, durability and concern for our environment.

My Satisfaction Promise: Ride your board for 30 days. If you don't like it, return it.

2018 Los Angeles International Auto Show

This past Summer, Volvo Cars (US) commissioned a short (6' 7")  board for this auto show. They wanted to stage it with a very unique pair of snow (powder) skis, Magnum Opus. The top surface is a very stunning wood veneer and Volvo wanted the board to match the ski wood color. Friend and fellow surfboard builder, Tom Allen/Tradition Surfboards, handled the tint job on my board.

Board for sale

$1300 for this board. 9'6" Nose Rider For Myself . For no other than this board shares my rack and needs a new home.

Hand crafted, not a kid board. Made with Western Red Cedar. This nose rider is well suited for our beach beaks and at 9'6" x 23.5" x 3.5" it has a sweet profile and surfs very well. The Rising Sun harkens back to days when boards were made of wood and painted with a Rising Sun. Each piece is hand cut an fitted for a truly unique, showcase board. The sun is Australian Lacewood, while I use balsa and dark cedar for nose and tail blocks.

If your intention is to surf it, I will live the wax on her. If she's a wall hanger (about half of what I make goes up on a wall) I'll get her cleaned and run a buffer over her.
