Our Promise To You

My Environmental Promise: I use Forest Stewardship Council certified woods or woods salvaged from downed trees. All boards are glassed with epoxy resin which is cleaner for our environment and emits 50-75% less Volatile Organic Compounds than polyester resin. In my shop I have moderate ventilation and no need for a mask when glassing. Epoxy is lighter and stronger than polyester. My wood boards are nearly indestructible and should last a lifetime. Each board is quality crafted for strength, durability and concern for our environment.

My Satisfaction Promise: Ride your board for 30 days. If you don't like it, return it.

Bookcase for Surfers - $475

Between board projects, except now Tom is finishing up couple of short boards and I'm thinking about couple more 9'0" Competition boards, one for East Coast fellow. I really enjoy the 9'0" I just finished, nice blend of speed, maneuverability and nose riding. I'm adding nose concave to the next ones.

I have been wanting to build a surfer's bookcase. The door is holding a board has been glassed with epoxy and while is tempting to surf, it might work as a skim board but not surfboard. It is 1" thick, spruce wood book matched to show grain and figuring. Turtle is inlayed blue Abalone shell.   Here's what I ended up with.

NIce boards from Scott

Scott Summerfield is an awesome glass maker. He sells his work through galleries in our area and all over US. Working in glass has always amazed me. You know, taking a solid, making it molten and in the end come out with something stunning. All borne of fire and silica. Amazing.

Well Scott is a surfer, not a surprise right? He also wants to dabble in wood board building. These two have been surfed and do what they do rather well. He brought these over today and I'd like to share his work with you. Two nice Alaias.

Web Cam for Sunset Beach NC

Dave Nelson-Broker
910-443-0868 cell

After many years we finally have a webcam back at Sunset Beach thanks to Dave Nelson and Kelly Clemmons at Century 21 in Sunset Beach.

While cam 2 shows a small section of beach, it will help everyone judge what SB surf is like. As the sun moves west, we can see the east side of the pier.
